Granola Girl Seeks the Sweet Life - Plan Bee....

I've owned just about every kind of critter at one time or another...an african grey, chickens, horses, doves, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, a duck, a goose, a turkey, a quail, frogs, fish...well, you get the idea. But, when I heard that the honeybees were struggling to survive, I wanted to help. We need our honeybees - I've never had a honeybee hive - the challenge is on.

So, I signed up for a six week short course in beekeeping taught by BUMBA (Bowie, Upper Marlboro Beekeepers Association) - how perfect is that name? Walks with Jimmy

This morning’s journey into the park yielded a surprising find of mushrooms. Never noticed how many different kinds there were...interesting colors and shapes. Funky fungi, indeed.

We're Back

Smooth flights from Lihue to San Francisco and onto Dulles. Left Kauai Sat. 1/24 @ 2:00 PM, arrived Dulles 1/25 @ 6:00 AM. Grabbed an IHOP breakfast and relived the magnificent memories of the last 10 days. 20 degrees - as evidenced by the birdbath in the backyard. Monday morning will arrive too soon.
Our Last Supper - Grand Hyatt, Tidepools - superb!
Heidi and Michael at Poipu Golf Course
Got my Uke and IZ songbook - Da Bes.
